Lost Rights of Way Campaign

Did you know that in 2026 any public right of way which hasn’t been formally recorded will be done away with for all time?

The Parish Council supports the campaign lead by The Ramblers Organisation to record lost public right of ways to save them from this fate.

Please contact us if you know of any public rights of way that may currently exist in law but may not be evident on the ground. These could be lost historical footpaths or bridleways, or ones that are known to you that have no sign posts and have seen uninterrupted use by the general public for more than 20 years.

The Parish needs your help to identify these lost rights of way in order that it can apply for them to be added to the ‘Definitive Map’ held by West Sussex County Council. With your assistance we hope save these enjoyed rights from being lost forever.

Please reply by 30 September 2021 to the Clerk/RFO via email to chidhamandhambrookpc@gmail.com.

Please note that your comments cannot be accepted anonymously, as evidence may be required at a later date to help support the Parish Councils application.
