No doubt you have seen the scaffolding that has gone up around the west end of St. Mary's and have been wondering what's going on. Unfortunately, we have a serious problem. There are urgent repairs that need to be carried out to the west end of the church and to the boundary wall. If these are not done then we will almost certainly have to close the church on safety grounds. This could also mean that we are closed for Christmas!
There will be a community meeting on Sunday 31st October at 4pm in St. Mary's to explain the problems. Please tell others who may be interested. If you can't make the meeting you will be able to watch virtually. More details to follow.
We have been advised that the repairs will cost £20K+ which sadly, as you are no doubt aware, we do not have. We are therefore appealing for donations towards the cost of these repairs. Are you able to help? If you would like to make a donation of whatever value, you can do so in one of the following ways and if you are able to Gift Aid any donation, that would help too.

St Mary's has been part of the community for weddings, baptisms, funerals and other family occasions for over 800 years. Please help us to keep the church open and ensure that it is available for another 800!
